An eight-year-old boy is in intensive care after being hit by a bus in Oxford.
The boy was injured crossing the road with his mother and family after the accident involving an Oxford Bus Company park-and-ride bus at the junction of Marston Road and Headington Road at the bottom of Headington Hill at about 4.20pm yesterday.
Paramedics and fire crews arrived at the scene and initially his injuries were believed to be minor.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where his condition deteriorated and this morning he is in intensive care with severe head injuries.
Police closed the junction between Morrell Avenue, Marston Road and Headington Road for about three hours to investigate the accident.
No-one has been arrested, but police are appealing for witnesses.
