Oxford Harley-Davidson is part of the largest ever demo test ride campaign staged by Harley-Davidson UK and Ireland.

The motorcycle manufacturer is provoking motorcyclists to challenge their preconceptions of the brand and its machines with a four-week demo test ride campaign in all UK dealerships, including the Oxford dealership.

Each week will have a specific themed focus to illustrate the breadth of the current line-up. Judgement Days will offer 4,500 ride opportunities across the four-week period and each person that completes a test ride will be entered into a free prize draw for a Harley-Davidson® CVO Springer® motorcycle worth almost £20,000. Oxford Harley-Davidson will also offer additional competition prizes on each of the four weekends.

To avoid disappointment, interested motorcyclists will be able to book test ride slots in advance via a dedicated online resource at www.harley-davidson.co.uk/judgementdays Week one will focus on performance with the ever popular V-Rod family and the retro cool XR1200.

The newest addition to the V-Rod family – the Muscle – has attracted more than its fair share of attention since its launch with American Supermodel Marissa Miller, while the XR750-inspired XR1200 conjures up iconic memories of stunt daredevil Evel Knievel and his death defying performances.

Those less concerned with urban cool, but with a yearning for the open road will enjoy week two’s Touring focus. The whole 2009 range, which benefits from a large amount of technological upgrades and development, will be available to test ride.

It will also coincide with the second week of Lord Charles Brocket’s 9,500-mile expedition aboard a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic, which will take him through Europe and the Middle East in aid of children and young people’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

Week three is likely to attract polar opposites with its Custom focus, which will include the chrome-laden traditional machines and the starkly contrasting stripped back Dark Custom motorcycles with matt and powder finishes.

Those more interested in just getting out and riding at the weekend, rather than spending hours in the garage polishing the chrome on their motorcycle will be drawn to the Dark Custom machines.

The final week concludes with a new to biking focus for existing licence holders who are keen to get back on two wheels and for new and aspiring licence holders. Information and advice will be available in each dealership and a selection of accessible motorcycles will be available to test ride.

The recently launched XL883 Iron will take centre stage among the Sportster family. With great stripped back looks and a price tag of just £5,375 OTR there has never been a better opportunity to buy a Harley-Davidson.

“This is a great opportunity for us to welcome new motorcyclists into our dealership,” said dealer principal John Phelan.

“We have a fantastic existing customer base, but we are aware that certain preconceptions may deter a large amount of local riders from walking into our showroom and trying out a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

This is an opportunity for motorcyclists with a preference for an alternative brand, to sample exactly what we have to offer. Our 2009 line-up is the best yet, so we’re hoping that Oxford motorcyclists will visit our dealerships during this period and judge our bikes for themselves.”
