Sir – I have an email from Parcelforce as follows: “I can inform you that on this occasion, we at Parcelforce carried out our side of the contract with the sender to deliver the parcel to a secure place”.
That may sound reasonable, but the “secure place” in question was somebody I have never heard of, who does not live at the address now quoted by Parcelforce and who left the registered parcel outside my house overnight. Parcelforce did not inform me that the parcel had been “delivered” at all, and I only found it by chance, 24 hours after the official delivery.
They must have some clever lawyers drawing up their contracts.
