FRIENDS and family of children with Down’s syndrome gathered to play football and raise money for charity.
On Sunday, 34 men, women and children played charity matches at Oxford City FC’s ground, in Marsh Lane, Oxford.
They raised £515 for Down’s Syndrome Oxford and the Down’s Syndrome Educational Trust through registration fees, a lottery game and cake stall.
Pictured, Sarah and Mark Stevenson, whose one-year-old son Jack has the condition, came up with the idea.
Mrs Stevenson, 41, of Tweed Crescent, Bicester, said: “My husband plays in a football team for Oxford University so we thought it would be a good idea.
“It has gone really well, it has been a glorious morning.
“Some of the families go to the Down Syndrome Educational Trust and they are a charity that really helps.”
Mrs Stevenson added: “Oxford City Football Club has donated the facilities and the football pitch and provided staff for the refreshments and a referee and commentator, so a big thank you to them.”
