A few days ago, while waiting for a bus, I realised that I only had a £20 note.
As I knew that the post office would not change it, I went to a bank. I was told that I would have to have an account with them before they would give me change.
On the bank note it said (on behalf of the Bank of England) “I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of £20”.
Where should I go to get change then?
