A TEENAGER was slashed in a knife attack at a birthday party, police have revealed today.

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old woman was knifed while at King’s End Association Club, Ashdene Road, Bicester, at about 8.45pm on Saturday.

She suffered a cut to the top of her right arm, but did not need hospital treatment.

Sgt Duncan O’Connor said: “There were lots of people at the party and I’m appealing for witness to come forward with any information that may help the investigation.”

Robin Gardner, police knife crime co-ordinator, said: “If you carry a knife, you are running the risk of getting caught, being put before a court and sent to prison for up to four years.

“People seem to think that carrying a knife keeps them safe. But, in fact, it could get used against them.

“If you know anyone who carries a knife, let them know about the dangers and the risks that they face."

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and released on bail until April 20.

Anyone with information should call police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
