A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a man’s jaw was broken during an argument at a petrol station.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 49-year-old was punched in the face at Sainsbury’s petrol station, in Limborough Road, Wantage, at about 8.15pm on Monday.
The 23-year-old was bailed until May 6.
Det Sgt Alan Clements said: “A 49-year-old man was walking across the road towards the Sainsbury’s petrol station in Limborough Road at 8.13pm when he was assaulted and sustained a broken jaw.
“We have arrested a man but are still in the early stages of our investigation and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
“This is a busy petrol station and there were plenty of people who may have seen what happened.”
