A 23-year-old man has been arrested accused of breaking a man’s jaw during a petrol station argument.

Police are still appealing for witnesses after a 49-year-old man was punched in the face at Sainsbury’s petrol station, in Limborough Road, Wantage, at 8.13pm on Monday.

A 23-year-old man arrested today on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and bailed until May 6.

Det Sgt Alan Clements said: “A 49-year-old man was walking across the road towards the Sainsbury’s petrol station in Limborough Road at 8.13pm when he was assaulted and sustained a broken jaw.

“We have arrested a man but are still in the early stages of our investigation and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

“This is a busy petrol station and there were plenty of people who may have seen what happened.”
