Two women and a man were arrested in a raid on a brothel in Witney town centre.

Police raided the brothel on Corn Street at about 6.10pm on Friday.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of managing a brothel and a 29-year-old woman was arrested for assisting in the management of a brothel.

Both were released on bail until April 17.

A 39-year-old woman arrested for immigration offences is in the custody of the UK Border Agency.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said officers and UK Border Agency officers acted after an anonymous tip-off made to Crimestoppers.

Sgt Dave Bishop said: “This is a great example of how intelligence from the community — even anonymously to Crimestoppers — can lead to arrests.”
