A man is being held in custody this afternoon accused of robbing a 101-year-old Polish war veteran in his north Oxford home.
Kazimierz Michalski, who survived a spell in the Russian Gulags and fought in the Second World War, was robbed by a man posing as a builder he met at at a Polish Mass at Blackfriars Priory, in St Giles, on Sunday, March 8.
Once inside Mr Michalski’s home the man stole about £400 from his wallet and fled.
A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody.
