IT has taken half a century of bad luck for Arthur Edmonds-Jones to confess to a crime he committed in Oxford way back in 1958.

In fact his trail of bad luck, which has followed him around the world, has been so dire he thinks the theft of a neighbour’s car all those years ago was the root cause of his bad karma.

Now he has taken the unusual step of confessing to his sin – and pleaded for the wronged, in this case a Mrs Spinks who lived in Northfield Road or Hawthorn Avenue, to come forward so he can make amends.

His trail of disaster echoes the TV series My Name is Earl, where an American has to right all the wrongs he has committed throughout his life.

Since 1958, Mr Edmonds-Jones has crashed cars and motorbikes, sunk a boat and lost his wife a year after marrying her. He is convinced that what comes around, goes around.

So if there is a Mrs Spinks out there reading this – get in touch.
