One man has been arrested at allotments off Abingdon Road after a robbery at Oxford city centre jewellers Goldsmiths.
Witnesses said two men, described as black with one wearing a hoodie and the other a baseball cap, used a mallet to smash a counter containing Rolex watches at the Queen Street store at about 1pm.
The men were seen running down St Ebbe’s Street.
