A fast-track letting has seen a unit at the new Chancerygate Business Centre, Kidlington, let to a vehicle servicing and repair firm, Oxford Vehicle Servicing.

The transaction on the 3,014 sq ft industrial unit took just five days from viewing.

This allowed the company, under a six-month Tenancy at Will, to have immediate occupation, while solicitors process a new 15-year lease on the premises.

Duncan May, associate director at Oxford-based agents Lambert Smith Hampton, said: “The speed in which this transaction was completed is illustrative of the general market sentiment.

“If a property is available that meets requirements, then it’s important that things are progressed quickly, so business operations can continue with minimum disruption.

“There is definitely life in the market, despite the doom and gloom. Having in-depth occupier and landlord knowledge within the local market is vital right now, as it enables us to act quickly on behalf of our clients.”

Richard Dawtrey, director of Chancerygate, added: “We are delighted that Oxford Vehicle Servicing has decided to lease a unit on the scheme and are sure that its business will thrive in this location.

“We are under offer on three further units and this just shows that, despite the market difficulties, our high quality product is still attracting occupiers.”

Kidlington-based VSL & Partners acted as joint marketing agent.
