Two men have been charged with drugs offences following a series of raids on an Oxford estate.

About 70 police officers raided ten homes across Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys in a dawn operation yesterday morning and made 14 arrests.

Jermaine Mason, 21, of Birchfield Close, has been charged with possession of cannabis and cocaine with intent to supply and remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court today.

Lloyd Lumsden, 53, was charged with possession of crack cocaine after the raid on his flat in Moorbank and bailed until March 30.

Four men aged 22, 19, 43 and 46, arrested in Emporer Gardens on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply have all been released on bail until May.

A 13-year-old boy arrested on the same charge is on bail until April 7.

A 17-year-old arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis following a raid in Whitethorn Way remains in custody.

Police cautioned a 19-year-old man from Long Ground for possession of Class-A and Class-B drugs with intent to supply, a 22-year-old woman from Field Avenue and 21-year-old woman from Birchfield Close, both for possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

A 24-year-old woman arrested for possession of a firearm after a can of illegal pepper spray was found in Warburg Crescent was bailed until April 23.

At a flat in Warburg Crescent, a 22-year-old woman arrested for possession of cannabis and cocaine with intent to supply was cautioned, while a 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of the same offences was released without charge.

Police also seized a crossbow, Samurai sword, knuckle-dusters, a fist-size lump of crack cocaine, around 300 cannabis plants, dozens of bags of cannabis, a stolen laptop and up to £5,000 in cash during the raids.
