I HAD to laugh when I saw the latest flight of fantasy by John Tanner (Tuesday’s Oxford Mail).

Doesn’t he realise that politicians of all parties, especially those in central government, are viewed with contempt by the general public in light of a few individuals’ sleazy, money grabbing, self-centred behaviour, which has dragged down the country?

And he wants to replace the Queen with another politician?

I’d suggest that he focuses his efforts on trying to improve the low standards of conduct exhibited by existing politicians. That should keep him busy for a very long time.

If he doesn’t know where to start I’ll happily remove his blinkers – and provide him with a (very long) list.
