A pilot had to be freed from an overturned aircraft at Enstone airfield today.

Firefighters were called to the airfield just before 11am after reports that the plane had overturned after failing to land on the runway, said a fire service spokesman.

She added: “One casualty was sent to hospital by air ambulance.”

Tonight the South Central Ambulance Service was unable to give any details on how badly injured the man was.

However, it is understood he did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
