PUPILS inspired one of the world’s top chefs when he popped into their school for a French-style breakfast.
Raymond Blanc, who owns Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons, visited Great Milton Primary School to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his two Michelin-starred restaurant in the village.
Teacher Emma Charnock said: “Four of the children read him poems in assembly that were recipes for a successful restaurant. They said things like 200g of perseverance and 100g of hardwork and he asked for a copy to put in his kitchen.”
The famous chef also joined in with French singing and listened to children’s poetry about their experiences cooking at the nearby restaurant.
Then he toured the school before tucking into croissants and chocolate milk with the pupils.
Miss Charnock said: “We are clearly very lucky to be supported by such a person and establishment like Le Manoir.
“He said he wanted to develop future links with the school and told the children how important it was to have talent, but that it wasn’t worth anything unless they worked hard. It was really heartfelt.”
