I WRITE regarding your story Republicans protest on execution anniversary (Tuesday’s Oxford Mail).
The 360th anniversary of Charles I’s execution actually occurred on January 30 2009.
In fact, the protest seems to be related to the date on which Oliver Cromwell abolished the office of King and declared England a Commonwealth (as reported in your On This Day column).
