Sir – I have had to travel to London twice this week. Needing to be there for around 2pm on both Monday and Tuesday I arrived at the Thornhill park-and-ride in good time, at around midday.
On both occasions the parking facilities were ‘full up’ and I was unable to park, thus missing the bus I had intended to catch.
It appears that unless one arrives at the site in the early morning, the chances of actually being able to utilise the facilities are practically zero. Is the park-and-ride scheme a victim of its own success?
Having purchased a multi-journey ticket to enable me to travel to and from London on a regular basis, I now find that I have to make alternative parking arrangements — but where exactly? Instead of being able to travel in relative ease, I found myself stressed out and frazzled, and late.
