SNAKES, lizards, turtles, owls and bats were just some of the species on show at the Go Wild event in Oxford.
On Saturday, more than 3,000 people passed through the doors of the Museum of Natural History, in Parks Road.
Museum spokesman Lukasz Kowalski said there were many volunteers showing wildlife to visitors. He said people were able to use microscopes to have a closer look at some insects living in a log taken from woodland.
He added: “I think everyone enjoyed it. It was very much a family-friendly event. I enjoyed touching a python.”
The drop-in annual event also gave people the chance to talk to conservation groups about their work.
