Great results are just one part of a great education at Headington. Some girls join the thriving CCF contingent; others row for Great Britain.

The arts play a central role in school life, with the spectacular art department and professional theatre providing a wealth of opportunities for girls to explore their creativity.

The English department is burgeoning with literary talent - some of the school's Sixth Formers are published poets!

Entrepreneurs hone their skills in Headington's own Running Your Own Company contest; imaginative fundraisers put on concerts, fashion shows, cake sales and more. Whatever your daughter's talents, she will find the support and confidence that she needs to succeed at Headington.

The school's impressive academic record speaks for itself, but Headington's true strength lies in its commitment to understanding and fulfiling the individual requirements of each of its pupils.

2009 is an exciting year for all at Headington. A state of the art new Music School opens its doors in June, completing the school's arts complex alongside the Art Centre and Theatre.

The new building will house professional recording studios, teaching spaces for individuals and small ensembles, and performance spaces including an outdoor amphitheatre.

Headington's thriving music department already delivers over 400 individual lessons per week, in more than 20 instruments, with more than half the school participating in our numerous ensembles of all sizes from quartets to the 45-strong Chamber Choir.

This year also brought the opening of the school's new floodlit Astroturf pitch, which saw its first hockey matches this season.

Designed to blend into the school's 23 acres of grounds and playing fields, the pitch provides a top-class facility for the school's hockey players and will double up to provide six tennis courts in the summer.

September 2009 will bring the launch of the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Headington's Sixth Form, offering a challenging alternative to traditional A-Levels.

Recognised and admired by admissions tutors at leading universities around the world, the IB is a broad and balanced course that rewards both academic and extra-curricular achievements.

It is particularly appealing for girls who are keen to continue to study a broad spectrum of subjects after GCSE, and for independent learners eager to expand their horizons, it offers a complete educational programme that is both challenging and fulfiling.

Open events at Headington provide a great opportunity for prospective pupils and their parents to experience the school for themselves.

Families tour the school, meet staff and girls, attend talks and Q&A sessions with the Headmistress, visit boarding houses and more.

Headington Open Events always take place during the week, allowing visitors to see lessons in action and soak up the school's vibrant atmosphere.

One open event is usually held every term - visit the website www.headington.org to book your place and find out more.
