A man was mugged for one pound during a pair of violent robberies which police think might have been linked.
A 31-year-old man was in Kennett Road, Headington, Oxford, just after midnight yesterday when a man came up and hit him — and then told him to give him a pound.
Police are linking the incident with an attack on a 19-year-old cyclist in Marston Ferry Road at about 1am on Sunday.
She was pushed off her cycle by a man who grabbed her bag then demanded her mobile phone and wallet.
Det Sgt Steve Raffield said: “I believe that these two robberies could be linked, but am keeping an open mind.
“I appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the robberies happen or a man in the area behaving suspiciously to contact me.”
A 44-year-old man arrested on suspicion of robbery remains in police custody.
Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
