People packed into the Phoenix Picturehouse in Jericho, Oxford, on Sunday to watch the premiere of a film highlighting the impact of climate change.
Starring Pete Postlethwaite, The Age of Stupid is the story of an archivist in 2055 in a world decimated by global warming.
The opening night of the film, showing at the Walton Street venue was a sell-out — much to the delight of Anthony Simpson.
Mr Simpson, a member of the Kidlington Versus Climate Change group, is one of the hundreds of people who helped to finance the film by investing in it.
He said: “I’m delighted there has been such a response to this film and that so many people have come out to see it.
“We just want to build on that and ensure as many people see it as possible.
“Climate change is something that is very real and we all have to do more.”
