A man suffered a fractured spine during a brawl outside a coffee shop.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a fight at Cafe Nero, in Banbury Market Square, at around 1.20pm, on Saturday.
A 29-year-old man suffered a fracture to the top of his spine and remains in Horton General Hospital.
A 22-year-old suffered minor injuries. Det Con Chris Whitwell said: “This attack was severe and took place at lunchtime in full view of numerous members of the public.
“We have already obtained witness details from people who saw the attack but I am still keen to speak to people who saw the incident but did not give their details to police at the time.”
Two men, aged 29 and 43, are in custody after being arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
