Detectives were tonight appealing for witnesses following reports of a serious sexual assault at an Oxford nightclub.
An 18-year-old man told police he was sexually assaulted in a toilet at The Coven nightspot in Oxpens Road.
The incident is thought to have happened between midnight and 1.30am on Saturday morning, a force spokesman said.
Police have launched an investigation into the assault, but have not yet issued a description of the alleged attacker.
Det Sgt Katy Barrow-Grint said: “We know that there were a lot of people in the club last night and we feel certain that someone would have seen or heard something suspicious at the time of the assault.
"It is vital that anyone with any information comes forward as soon as possible.”
