OUR firefighters have attended 56 “emergencies” over the past five years coming to the aid of fat people – including some where obese people have become stuck in their own homes.
Chief fire officer John Parry is concerned at the potential impact these types of calls could have on the service’s ability to respond to more pressing emergencies.
Individuals have a responsibility to themselves first and foremost. So to get to the state where you weigh 40 stones and are unable to move is somewhat worrying, not to mention rather embarrassing.
