Gambling, girls and a touch of Broadway glamour were on offer as an Oxford school put on a production of Guys and Dolls.
A cast of about 30 boys and girls from D’Overbroeck’s College, in North Oxford, took over Keble College’s O’Reilly Theatre, in Parks Road, for a three-show production which ends tonight.
Director and drama teacher Joe Swarbrick said: “It went brilliantly and it was a treat for everyone involved.
“It far surpassed my expectations of what the class could be capable of.”
Lydia Hassan, 14, who played Nicely Nicely Johnson, said: “Sometimes it's been quite stressful and tough, and sometimes we'd be in fits of laughter over a scene. But generally there's been more laughter than stress. I feel very proud of the show.”
