I READ in the Spring issue of Marston News, that councillors Mary Clarkson and Beverley Hazell had successfully pressed county council officers to widen and upgrade the path across Croft Road recreation ground.

The officers have agreed to make the improvements this summer, which will include two new wider bridges and the lighting that Michael Haines has so vigorously campaigned for.

This will mean better passage along this pathway, where, at the moment, pedestrians have to give way to cyclists who seem to think they have right of way.

The new lighting will also make it a much safer place at night.

Well done to all three of them.
