A PADDLING pool full of custard helped put the fun into science.
The annual Wow! How? day drew a bumper 3,000 people to Oxford University’s Museum of Natural History in Parks Road in just six hours on Saturday.
The event, staffed by volunteers and funded by the British Science Association, formed part of this month’s Oxfordshire Science Festival.
Event co-ordinator Flora Bain said: “One of the most popular displays was the paddling pool full of custard. There were lots of small children paddling in it and learning about non-Newtonian fluids — the custard is solid if you stamp down on it and gloopy if you move slowly through it.”
