COMMUNITY safety – with a big dash of fun – will be the order of the day at the first Blackbird Leys Action Day.
Organised by Oxford City Council on behalf of the Leys Neighbourhood Action Group, the Action Day has been funded by Oxford Safer Communities Partnership (OSCP) and Thames Valley Police, and aims to promote Blackbird Leys as a safe place to live and work.
As well as information and advice from a range of local groups, including the Leys Youth Programme, visitors will be able to enjoy football coaching from Oxford United, badminton, martial arts such as kick-boxing, karate and kung-fu, and singing from the Blackbird Leys choir, plus much more.
The event will take place at Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre, Pegasus Road, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, March 21.
