A 38-year-old man who admitted shoplifting and using a false identity card has been jailed for a year.
Oxford Crown Court heard Malik Labidi, of no fixed address, stole food from Waitrose in Wantage on February 21 and then lied to police about his name.
Labidi also showed officers a false French identity card, but police realised he was lying after taking his fingerprints.
The Recorder, Vasanti Selvaratnam, jailed Labidi for 12 months.
