A teenage girl was sexually assaulted and a shotgun fired at a party in a quiet west Oxfordshire village early today.
Police were called at 1am to Enstone Road, Gagingwell, near Chipping Norton, following a complaint that the 14-year-old had been attacked. About 60 people were at the event.
One 18-year-old man and two 16-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of theft and sexual assault, a 17-year-old boy has been arrested of suspicion of theft and a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, a spokesman said.
All five were being held in custody tonight and police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Officers spent most of Sunday searching the area surrounding the village and recovered a firearm.
