A circus of light and sound performed by strange figures created from scrap metal is on display at the Oxfordshire Museum, in Woodstock.

The exhibition of “kinetic sculptures” created by Russian-born Eduard Bersudsky, was brought to the museum after the curator saw it in Glasgow.

Curatorial assistant Barbara Grinsted said: “They’re quite macabre. They have carved figures made from junk metal and all sorts of strange machinery.

“The lighting is beautiful, because it creates lovely coloured shadows on the wall and everyone is just mesmerised by it.”

Every 75 minutes the figures perform in a 30-minute ‘circus’ to music.

The Sharmanka and Gothic Kinetic Exhibition is at the museum until Sunday, March 29.
