BICESTER: A school is leading the way in learning after getting an award for the inspirational way children are taught.
Staff and pupils at Brookside Primary School have been celebrating after becoming the first school in the county to scoop the Leading Aspect Award.
Two years ago the school, in Bucknell Road, scrapped traditional teaching methods and swapped to pupil-led learning.
Children choose what they want to learn and teachers plan lessons incorporating core skills to ensure the national curriculum is taught.
Last year the school, which has 270 students, say it had its best ever SATS results and pupils’ motivation levels have soared.
