Sir – Councillor Young (Report, February 26) asserts that St Clement’s church used to be the venue for the singing of the Hymnus Eucharisticus on May Morning.
I do not know what her evidence for this claim is, but there is no record in the college of our choir crossing the bridge to sing there. The singing, as far as we know, has been from the top of our Great Tower since it was built in 1505.
Before that it may have been on the ground but within the college walls.
