A Bicester restauranteur has made it on to the pages of a 'who’s who' of British Bangladeshis.
Shukur Ali, who owns and runs Jaflong in the Market Square, was delighted to get an entry in the book.
The book is compiled to honour prominent and successful members of the British Bangladeshi community.
There were 216 people mentioned in the book from across the country who worked in sectors including politics, catering, media, medicine, academia and business.
Father-of-five Mr Ali said: “It’s a real honour to be included in this book. It’s the first time it has been published and is a celebration of all the British Bangladeshi people who have done well in business and their local communities.”
Mr Ali has set up the Shukur Ali Education Trust which aims to improve education in the Dulabazar area where he grew up. He also hopes to help build a mosque and maternity clinic for that community.
