A charity in Charlbury has been awarded a national award at the IT Volunteering Awards.
SpecialEffect, which helps young people with disabilities to enjoy computer games, won the Best IT Volunteering Project, in the innovation category.
It received £500 at last Thursday’s ceremony, held at the British Computer Society, in Southampton Street, London.
SpecialEffect helps both youngsters and their parents choose computer games they can play, as well as adapting those games that may be too quick or difficult.
The charity created computer games roadshows for disabled groups throughout Oxfordshire.
Judges thought it was a great concept and had the potential to help lots more young people with disabilities.
