It seems Oxfordshire County Council’s cabinet member for transport, Ian Hudspeth, has ignored last July’s Blenheim Palace CLA Game Fair traffic chaos (Oxford Mail, January 28).
He seems over eager to please the CLA and Blenheim Palace gentlemen.
Bill Oddy, chairman of the Safety Advisory Group for West Oxfordshire talks of “significant risk and challenge”, but gives no content to what will be done differently.
If enough people, who have to be on Oxfordshire roads that day, add up their additional costs and expenses incurred directly due to this event, and present their bills to Mr Hudspeth, perhaps he might be a little more considerate.
Don’t hold your breath though.
Ironically, the economic crisis might come to our rescue by vastly reducing the amount of visitors.
