Two shops were raided, a car was broken into and graffiti sprayed on buildings during a night of crime in Faringdon.

Burglars stole a catapult after smashing a window at Turner’s Tackle and Bait, in Station Road, at around 2am on Saturday Half an hour later burglars broke into The Bargain Centre, in Market Place, and stole sweets, fizzy drinks, cigarettes and lighters.

During the same night graffiti was sprayed on shops and houses in the town centre.

PC Jon Bodinham, investigating the incidents, said: “We believe that the spray can was stolen from a car that was parked in the town centre and that all of these offences could be linked.

“I appeal to anyone who was in the area of Faringdon town centre between 1.30am and 2.30am on Saturday morning and has any information about these incidents to contact me.”

Two 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of two counts of burglary, criminal damage and theft. They are currently on police bail.
