Almost 150 drivers were stopped in Oxford during a six-hour crackdown on illegal motorists.
Police caught 105 motorists who were not wearing seatbelts, 22 using their mobile phones and 12 for illegal levels of window tint in Sunderland Avenue and London Road during the operation on February 16.
Police only released the figures last night.
The operation was carried out as part of a Europe-wide road safety week, which ran between February 16 and 20.
Sgt Chris Appleby said: “Unfortunately we caught far too many people failing to wear seatbelts.
“As a result of this we discovered other offences, resulting in seized vehicles and arrests for more serious matters.
“It is a shame that motorists continue to ignore the seatbelt message and place themselves and their family in danger of serious harm or death.”
