A woman was assaulted and her dog kicked in an attack in Oxford.

The woman, aged 21, was walking her dog near to the shops in Pegasus Road, Blackbird Leys, when a man came over to her and kicked the dog and punched her.

The attack happened at about 10pm on Friday.

Sgt Rob Axe said: “There were other people in the area at the time including those in and around the shops.

“Luckily the woman only received bruising but has been left shaken by the incident.

“We are still investigating exactly what happened and I would ask anyone who witnessed this assault to get in touch.”
