Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a fight in Oxford last night to contact them with information.

Police were called to an incident at about 11.40pm following reports that a number of people were fighting on the Cowley Road, near to Howard Street.

Three men suffered facial and head injuries. Two were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Police said their injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

Det Insp Simon Morton said: “We believe a large number of people witnessed this incident, which has left one man with serious head injuries and another needing hospital treatment.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened to contact me via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.”
