Two men were recovering following a fight involving two gangs in Cowley Road last night.

Police were called to the junction with Howard Street at around 11.40pm after witnesses reported seeing two gangs battling.

A 31-year-old man is thought to have suffered injuries to his face, while a 27-year-old man is reported to have cuts to the back of his head.

The condition of both men was this morning unknown.

Police cordoned off a stretch of the pavement during the night.

It is not yet known if there have been any arrests.
