A TEENAGER was behind bars tonight after being convicted of a revenge attack against an Oxford schoolboy.
Oxford Crown Court heard Saqab Dogar kicked the boy as he lay bleeding on the ground in St Nicholas Road, Littlemore.
Dogar, right, confronted the teenager, who cannot be named, to seek revenge for an earlier alleged attack on one of his friends.
But Dogar, 18, targeted the wrong person and left the innocent teenager, then aged 14, with cuts, bruises and a cracked cheekbone.
The jury took seven hours to convict Dogar, formerly of East Oxford, of wounding with intent.
His friend Amir Hamza, 18, of Ridgefield Road, East Oxford, had already admitted the charge but denied allegations he had a knife.
During the trial the victim said the pair approached him on January 24 last year armed with a knife. He said one of them punched him to the ground before both kicked him.
Judge Mary Jane Mowat remanded Dogar in custody and ordered him and Hamza to return to the court on March 9.
Outside court, Dc Lucinda Bevan said: “It was a particularly vicious attack on an innocent schoolboy.”
The victim’s mother said: “I am pleased. It has been 11 months of absolute hell. My son is still suffering the effects.”
