Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in a Witney wine bar.
At about 9pm on Saturday, a 22-year-old man was assaulted in Norton’s Wine Bar in Langdale Court. He sustained a serious head injury and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment.
Det Con Grahame Lea said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a young man enjoying a night out in a busy bar.
“Were you in Norton’s on Friday night, Saturday morning? Did you witness what appeared to be a scuffle at the bar?
“If you have any information please contact police immediately.”
The offender was white, aged between 20 and 25 , about 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall and of medium build. He was wearing a grey long-sleeved jumper and blue jeans.
The victim was white, 5ft 10in tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black zip-top with a white shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.
