A 23-year-old man accused of carrying out a string of armed robberies across Oxford and the surrounding area has appeared in court.
Jon Shirley, of no fixed abode, is charged with five robberies and two firearms offences.
These relate to alleged robberies at Londis, in Wheatley, a BP petrol station in Marston, and houses in High Street, Beckley, and Ambleside Drive, in Headington, Oxford.
Jamie Worthington-Hale, 35, of Stockleys Road, in Oxford, has been charged with assisting an offender.
Both appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court today and were remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Crown Court next Monday.
