Robbery suspect Jon Shirley has tonight been arrested by 30 police at a house in Oxford.

Detectives had appealed for help to Shirley, 23, after naming him as their number one suspect following a series of armed robberies over the past two months.

At about 7pm 30 police raided a house in Marston and arrested Shirley and another man on suspicion of robbery.

They are expected to be interviewed tomorrow.

There had been a dozen possible sightings of Shirley in the past two days and a police spokesman thanked the public and media for their help.
