Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary in Burford on Monday.
At about 10pm, the occupant of a house in Fulbrook, a 77-year-old woman, saw a figure walking away from the address.
She then noticed that a window had been smashed and jewellery was missing. A wooden sewing box was also stolen and was later recovered a short distance away.
Det Sgt Craig Kirby said: “I appeal to anyone who was in this area of Burford on Monday evening and saw someone acting suspiciously to contact police immediately.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt Kirby via Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
