Here is another picture of some of the men who protected Wolvercote villagers in Oxford during the Second World War.
Like the previous one we published (Memory Lane, December 29), this picture of the village Home Guard was taken in 1941.
But the venue this time was St Edward’s School, in Woodstock Road, not the school boathouse in Godstow Road as before.
Can anyone tell us anything about the trophy one member of the platoon is holding?
We know most of the names. Can anyone fill in the gaps?
Back, from left: Mayo, Jim Neal, Harry Drewett, Alf Robinson, Ted Kilby, ?, ?. Front: Tom Green, ?, ?, ?, Frank Crozier, George Bidmead.
