The meals-on-wheels service in the village was in danger of folding – until pupils at the village primary school stepped in.
When the number of elderly people having the service dropped to two, meals were cooked at the school and delivered to their homes by the children.
In these pictures, taken in 1972, school cook Betty Hicks hands over the lunches to the children, and Lucy Harvey and Carmen Harding deliver a meal to pensioner William Redgrave, who lived near the school.
The other picture, taken in 1964, shows a scene from Kingham Hill School’s play A Man for All Seasons. Mark Michels (Lady Alice More) has some sharp words for Barry Whittaker (Duke of Norfolk), while Christopher Jordan (Lady Margaret More) and Peter Morris (Sir Thomas More) look on.
